The parade of lights is Saturday, December 2. We cordially invite you to join in this year’s celebration for a beautiful evening parade.  Line-up is 3:30-4:00 and the parade starts promptly at 4:30PM.  Saturday, December 9th will be an alternate day for the parade in the event of inclement weather.

We ask that all groups include some sort of lighting as a part of their entry. We also request each group to designate a person to lead your group (through the parade route) A Parade Registration Form is attached. Below are a few important dates to keep in mind:

Timeline:

  • Monday, November 27th – Deadline for registrations

o In order to properly assign space in the parade, we MUST receive your registration by this date: Monday, November 27th.

o Please return your completed form either by:

  1. Mail: to Parade of Lights, PO Box 194, Gardiner ME 04345
  2. Email: to [email protected]

o Feel free to forward the entry form for others to use. Entries received after the deadline are welcome but will be placed towards the end of the parade. For safety reasons, the line-up and length of the parade must be set in advance. Therefore, we are not able to allow new entries on the day of the parade. We require pre-registration for the parade.

  • Thursday, November 30th – Parade Positions Available We will contact you regarding your line-up position and starting area. Please note: if you do not hear from us, call at 207-582-3100.
  • December 2nd– Gardiner Parade of Lights

o If the weather is questionable, we will make an announcement on the Gardiner Main Street Facebook page. You are welcome to call us 207-582-3100.

o Procedures:

  • Check-in between: 3:30 – 4:00pm at the Parade Registration Table located at the corner of Winter St and Summer St. ONLY FLOATS OR VEHICLES IN THE ACTUAL PARADE WILL BE ADMITTED TO THIS AREA – IF YOU ARE DROPPING OFF CHILDREN YOU MUST PARK ON SUMMER ST.  AND WALK THEM IN.
  • Check-in for all entries (Someone representing the entry MUST check in.) Check in at the Parade Registration table, even if you already received your line-up position.
  • All entries will receive a number to display.
  • 4:30pm -the Parade begins promptly!
  • 5:30pm -the Parade Awards Winners of the Illumination Award will be announced at Johnson Hall. Stay after for crafts, cocoa and a visit with Santa!
