For three years, Gardiner’s Co-working space, known as the CoLab has been offering small businesses and non-profits big office amenities with limited overhead. All members of the CoLab benefit from shared Wi-fi, a professional color printer/copier, a mailing address, and access to meeting space. Moreover, the spirit of collaboration bleeds into the work of creative and forward thinking professionals who benefit from chance encounters with like minded members of the community in an inspiring, comfortable 3rd floor loft office space overlooking historic water street and Gardiner’s Waterfront Park. The mission of the Water Street facility is a shared resource for small businesses or individuals to be able to work together harmoniously while allowing each other to prosper and grow.
“CoLab really captures the essence of creativity in Gardiner,” says Patrick Wright, director of Gardiner Main Street. Gardiner Main Street has been using the CoLab as its headquarters since its inception, and recently took the reins of the effort. “It’s a great option for someone currently working out of a home office to show a professional face to the world at an affordable price.” By not having the burden of being responsible for equipment and maintenance, Colab’s tenants have more time to focus on their own work.
Artist in residence Robert Saunders’ art graces the brick clad interior of the space, which includes both a formal conference room and a less formal meeting space, complete with comfy chairs.
Colab is currently seeking members for ‘drop in’ shared desk space in the common area, for as low as $50 a month. Membership includes the shared amenities mentioned above. The conference area is also available to non-members for up to four hours for $25. (207)582-3100
