It takes a village and Gardiner is no exception: building a community takes the effort of many people.

Background

Gardiner Main Street volunteers have a diverse set of skills and experiences: technical, financial, marketing, business, and even social services. Volunteers range in age, interests, and availability while working and handling other responsibilities including family, civic, and community roles.

Events


Our events are fun! Meet new people or just catch up with your neighbors. Last year, over 250 people volunteered for Gardiner Main Street events contributing over 2,000 hours. No job is too small or too big for our volunteers who do it all to pull of large, professional quality events.

Office

Write promotional articles, data entry, manage our online communications, create reports, or help us streamline our administrative work to be better efficient and successful. Time spent is up to you, in-office or at home on your schedule.

Committees

If you’re looking to effect change over the long-term, Gardiner Main Street has three committees working on various projects to enhance downtown Gardiner: Streetscape, Business Development, and Promotions.

Streetscape Team Enhancing the physical appearance of the commercial district by providing support and guidance for rehabilitating historic buildings, improving the look, feel, and utility of Downtown Gardiner, and developing long-term planning. Meets 2nd Wednesday of each month at 8:30am GMS office, 149 Water St.

Promotions Team Marketing Gardiner’s unique assets to customers, potential investors, new businesses, local citizens and visitors. Volunteers go beyond event logistics by helping to plan events, organize committee meetings, manage social media, and brainstorm even more ways to highlight the historic charm of this city by the river.Meets 1st Monday of each month at 4pm GMS office, 149 Water St.

Business Development Team Strengthening Gardiner’s existing businesses while exploring ways to welcome new businesses and create economic opportunities. Meets 4th Thursday of each month at 5:30pm GMS Office , 149 Water St. Chair: John Callinan. *This committee is actively seeking local business owners with specific skillsets in marketing, finance, or other transferrable business expertise to join the committee. Board of Directors

Our board members are creative and engaged members who take an active role in taking charge of the changes for a better Gardiner.
