This day-long festival is part of the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce’s annual summer celebration of the Kennebec River, locally styled as the “Whatever Family Festival.” Activities will take place along Water Street and at Waterfront Park with an expected attendance of 2,000 people from around the region.
The Greater Gardiner River Festival features arts and entertainment, games, giveaways, and local food at the beautiful Waterfront Park. Gardiner Main Street presents live music and entertainment, a craft fair, and activities for all ages. As part of this event, the 19th annual Gardiner Arts and Crafts Festival will take place downtown from 10am-4pm. Water Street is transformed into an open air shopping festival showcasing artisans and crafters from around Maine.
Festival organizers have continued to find ways to celebrate life on the Kennebec River – both from land and from the shore. Most activities are free to the public thanks to the area’s generous sponsors. Again this year, there will be several ways to get out on the river – from boat rides to standup paddleboard demonstrations. Throughout the day, there will be entertainment and children’s’ activities at Gardiner’s Waterfront Park.
